Welcome to the Anti-Summer School Comedy Camp for Teens, a premier program brought to you by Planet Ant as part of our Laugh Lab series! Here, teens can immerse themselves in the world of comedy in a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment.

Teens will find themselves practicing the art of comedy at the Detroit institution where Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson of I Think You Should Leave worked.

Led by experienced instructors who are passionate about comedy, our camp offers a dynamic curriculum that covers everything from improv and sketch writing to stand-up comedy and comedic acting. Our goal is to foster creativity, confidence, and collaboration while providing teens with the skills they need to succeed in the world of comedy.

At the Anti-Summer School Comedy Camp, students will be learning inside a professional Black Box Theatre where they will be able to hone their craft. With its fully-equipped Black Box stage on the first floor to its writing and rehearsal space on the 2nd floor, and its spacious enclosed backyard, we provide the perfect environment for young comedians to explore their talents.

Our staff consists of seasoned professionals who are dedicated to providing a fun and engaging experience for every student. With backgrounds in education, comedy writing, and live performance, our team is committed to helping teens unleash their comedic potential.

From day 1 teens in our comedy writing camp will begin work on Friday's show. Utilizing various writing techniques teens will formulate ideas, work together, brainstorm, and bring to life the ideas that make them laugh. Students will have as much control over their type and style of production as possible.

As soon as the session starts teens will begin their performance journey. Performers will learn what goes into a professional comedy performance. Structured group work initiated via improv will not only get the entire group laughing but will seamlessly instill performance basics. Character, expression, physicality, voice, will all be explored.

Teens spend the day with us writing, performance training and rehearsing material for Friday’s show. This is the best and most recommended experience as well as the best value.
