WHAT IS THE DETROIT WOMEN OF COMEDY FESTIVAL’S MISSION?
The Detroit Women of Comedy Festival is a celebration of diverse perspectives in comedy and creativity from Metro Detroit and beyond.
DWCF strives to honor and elevate marginalized voices across a spectrum of genders and identities to create an inclusive platform for community-building, joy, and collaboration in comedy.
The festival features improv, stand-up, sketch, podcasts, alt comedy, and workshops. Proceeds directly support Detroit-based non-profits providing arts education and services for at-risk populations in the community.
WHEN AND WHERE Will THE DETROIT WOMEN OF COMEDY FESTIVAL BE HELD?
DWCF will be held in person at Planet Ant (Hamtramck, MI) on May 17th & 18th, 2024.
IS THE FESTIVAL ONLY FOR WOMEN?
This is an inclusive festival for all genders and identities to come together in a show of support for female-identifying performers in comedy. ALL are welcome to submit their talent, attend the festival, and celebrate with us! We firmly believe in the importance of community and inclusivity.
WHAT KIND OF ACTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for comedy of all kinds! Stand-up, Improv, Video Sketches, and whatever other form of comedy you want to bring.
SUBMISSION DATES & FEES
HOW DO I SUBMIT AN ACT?
Everyone must submit through 2024 SUBMISSIONS FORM & pay the submission fee associated with their act type.

WHEN WILL 2024 SUBMISSIONS BE OPEN?
Regular Submissions will be open from Thursday, February 1st until Thursday, February 29th. Last Chance Submissions will run from March 1st through March 10th.

WHEN AND HOW WILL WE BE NOTIFIED?
Accepted performers will be notified via email no later than Monday, April 1 2024.
VIDEO DETAILS
DO I NEED TO HAVE A VIDEO?
Yes, we’re asking for a full, unedited performance of your show. For stand-up, we want to see 5 minutes of a set. Please submit a video of 5 minutes or include timestamps of the 5 minutes you want reviewed. If you’re an improv group, we want to see 10 minutes of your group performing. Please send a video of 10 minutes of a set or include timestamps for the 10 minutes we should review. For Podcasts, please submit a link and include timestamps for 15 minutes you would like reviewed. For sketch or video submission send a video link. All videos must be submitted with a link, downloads will not be accepted.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR SELECTING A VIDEO?
A good quality video is easy to see and hear clearly. Additionally, a steady video with a good clear view allows us to get the most out of your submission.
HOW DO I SEND THE VIDEO?
Please make sure your video is hosted somewhere that does not require us to download it (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo) AND is not password protected, it does not have to be public, but please test any private links before submitting.
HOW LONG SHOULD THE VIDEO BE?
Stand up: 5 minutes
Improv: 10 minutes
Sketch/Video: 3-10 minutes
Podcast (Audio): 15 minutes
ONE OF THE CAST IS UNSURE OF WHETHER THEY CAN MAKE IT. WHAT DO I DO?
Please list all currently confirmed performers in your submission. We understand that life happens and things may change, so we ask that you please let us know of any changes by emailing us at DWCFsubmissions@gmail.com.
DO I NEED TO SUBMIT A PICTURE?
Yes, we’ll use your high-resolution picture for festival promotions. If you have any social media tags, include them in your submission so we can tag you!
DO I NEED TO SUBMIT A LOGO?
If you have one, we’ll use your logo for festival promotions, so please include a high resolution copy. If you have and social media tags include them in your submission so we can tag you!
